With the idea I stated above; if a licensed speeder were caught doing that kind of stuff, a ticket could be applied mathematically to his license, thereby decreasing his privilege.

IE: Get caught not paying attention for some reason? Well then, you get to drive -10mph for the next 6 months.

Then again, there'd be so many people in this country driving 20mph or less.

The biggest problem though is that's all a scam too.

The whole phone vs handsfree issue, totally junk science. There've been numerous studies that suggest it's the *act* of talking on the phone, *handsfree or not* that causes the lack of attention to the task of driving.

In other words, it's not HOW you talk on the phone but THAT you're talking on the phone at all.

It's been suggested that it's because, when your talking to someone in the car, they're aware of the situation and can also sense danger and will actually increase your awareness of the situation at hand.

The fact they're not there and can't see anything; They continue to yammer away as a dangerous situation approaches, competing for your attention rather than aiding it.

I further this, by saying, (although I won't) Yapping on the phone on a highway with even minor stop and go conditions isn't all that dangerous.

However, without a doubt, surface roads, and parking really are. My god, I've watched someone parallel park with a phone held up to their head.

If there's a situation which calls for some extra attention, it's that. If there's a situation where you can kill someone, it's then.

Meh, I digress
