I'm sure GM is going to make these Direct 6 Camaro's sound as good as they can get away with. Everybody WILL be as happy a pig in poop as they drive off the showroom floor...as well they should be! But the bottom line is, you just won't get a small displacement six sounding as good as a larger displacement eight.

A long time ago my buddy/mechanic did my exhaust on my old T/A. This guy was PICKY, and he did a great job!!! He on the other hand had a wicked Grand National. Try as he may, try as he might, he could never get that thing sounding anywhere near as good as he got my T/A to sound, and it used to piss him off to the high heavens!!! There was even one night when I went to pick up the car from him after I blew up the rear end. As I was test driving it, I came up to a light where I had to go right, and the car (the original Viper) next to me had to go left. We started talking and I told him how much I love his car etc., and he told me he was out on his first date with it. It was a beautiful car, and he was a good guy!!! But when the light turned green and we went our own ways, (neither one of us got on it) I started smiling...my T/A sounded better!!!

That old Trans Am couldn't touch either that Grand National or that Viper, but it did sound better! (I wonder if that Viper driver ever changed his exhaust?)
