The shorties are typically not throwing CELs because they don't screw up the rear o2 sensor readings. The Doug Thorley shorties I think are the only ones so far that have had zero CELs.
To the op: you have to first decide on long tubes or short tubes.
Long: more power, but will throw a CEL and you will need a tune probably to get rid of it, emissions problems.
Short: Less power, awesome sound, no CEL, no need for a tune, emissions legal
Once you pick long vs short, then you can debate which brand you want to go with within that category.
