At idle, they put out more heat because of the thin wall tubing vs the bigger surface area, during driving, the air going through the engine bay does not really allow much underhood heat, especially in the front at the air intake system. But you do get lower IAT's because boost lowers as back pressure is minimizied.

The last sentence is simple, The Whip system has the bypass system below the intercooler, meaning this, when the motor has more than 2" of vacuum, its circulating intercooled air, not un-intercooled air. If you don't cool this air, the air temp rises during vacuum opertaion. This is more critical on screw compressors, but, is still important to the new roots type SC's, especially the TVS.
