I worked some OT to get an immediate sound increase...I had too, I absolutely hated the stock sound. Made me feel like it wasn't a camaro in a sense...gotta have some girth lol. Now it has an amazing tone and beautiful hum to it when driving...

....the best, BEST friggin sound is start up. Holy s--- does start up sound awesome now. Even my girl who isn't big on vehicles that make 'too much noise' likes to have the windows down to hear it on start up or while driving...now that says a TON.

The S type axle back's tone is awesome and drone is very limited with the axle back. If you have the LS3 the cat back wouldn't be a bad buy for you...would NOT recommend it for the L99 until you tune out AFM.

I was like you...didn't want to wait to save an additional 500 for the mid pipes so I took the jump...don't regret it at all. If you are like me ...I personally wanted to save the extra 600 to put it towards Kooks headers. I am taking it very slowly, one step at a time...I wasn't sure if the S type would be too loud so I only did axle back. It is not too loud (so if you want something that just burns peoples ear drums you wont get it from this haha), so I am going to take the next step up to the headers but keep the H pipe to maintain my resonators in case it is really loud. I think I should be fine with that setup....

If you just want a tone increase with mild-moderate volume increase..axle back is a cost effective way of going and borlas tune IMO is just flat out sweet
I have the axle back as well. And am going to be getting some catted mid pipes shortly then adding headers, i can't wait to hear the sound of it. But the S Type has a nice growl to it, especially when you romp it. at idle it is pretty quiet no drone really.

I was going to install them my self. but first i went by a local muffler shop to see how much it would cost to weld them on(b/c if i did it i would have been bolting them on) He said 50 bucks. so i did that. You just have to look around if you cant install them your self.

Good luck and you will not regret.
