My guess is they are saving it for the Z/28... and from the videos, I think I'm right. As for the SS, I guess making it so quiet made all the
"regulatory, environmentalists, (insert your own description here)" ...happy. The Z/28 will be much less production, and GM appears to have let loose the awesome sound... that is the LS V-8 engine!
As for what you can do, it's up to you. I also live in Cali, and wasn't about to just do a mufler-delete. I'd rather not attract more attention from the police than I already do. But pretty much any aftermarket will do what you are looking for, when you got the cash.
