Autocross is designed for car handling skills. Course is set up via the use of orange cones and held in the lower lot at Aloha Stadium. The course changes each event. Every car is placed in a class according to mods. There is a stock category. You'll see Honda Fits, Miatas, Subarus, Mustangs, Camaros, Minis, Corvettes, Porsche, BMWs, Lotus, GTRs, etc. Practically any car has probably been out at one time. Some very stock (absolutely no mods) to full mods. It is a blast. You probably only use 1 or 2 gears, learn to use your brakes, and will do a bit of sliding. Course takes 30-40 secs. And turns can be up to 180 degrees. Check out sccahawaii.org for more information and pictures. It really hard to explain the rush you get from driving the course. It looks easy but its not.
I'll be there this Sunday running I believe in the last heat (about 2 pm). Will probably be the only time I run the 2010. I usually run the 2000 Z28. Check it out if you have time.
