I live in the city now, but I also lived on a 40 acre farm in the country as well in a smaller town. In college, I drank in the dorm room and never drove, and I would walk 10 miles from Pullman, WA to Moscow, ID to get booze and drink while walking back. Or we'd go to bars in Moscow & walk back. I had a car, but NEVER took it along because I knew I was going to be drinking. This was back in 1982-4.
The only times I drink now are on the Camaro Cruise where I'll drink at the destination restaraunt when I know I won't be doing further driving. I also will drink at home when friends are over. And, of my friends, the people not drinking are ALWAYS the ones not driving.
I don't buy the BS excuses on this. If you're going to drive, DON'T DRINK. Yes, it's that simple.
I hope none of you ever lose a loved one to a drunk driver, but if you did you would feel the same as I do.
