Myth. The 8.8 rear under the GT500 is more than capable of handling the hp/tq put out by the SuperSnake. I've made quite a few 1/4 mile passes in the past year making more hp/tq than the SuperSnake, and also driving it every day. So far, 20K miles later, I've had zero issues with the 8.8 in the car.
Now, maybe if I were to switch to a full slick and launch the car at 4K+ at the strip, then I might need to step up, but I don't have plans to do that. Just to reiterate, the 8.8 rear in the GT500 is NOT the same 8.8 rear used in the Mustang GT.
As for a warranty, your speaking of a factory warranty. I doubt the Hennessey Camaro will carry a GM warranty any more than the SuperSnake carries a Ford warranty. The fact of the matter is, if you can afford the car, chances are you could give a rats ass about a warranty anyway. I voided the powertrain warranty on my car within a few days of owning it.
