Hey I grew up in that same era where drinking and driving was the norm. I can remember back to the early 60s riding (no seat belt, front seat) with my mom while she was racing my dad, they were both drunk, and mom's 58 Olds beat dads 61 Cadillac. If my dad wasn't driving drunk, he probably was out on his boat, boating drunk. He came back from boating drunk one day, got in his cadillac and drunk drove it straight into Bellingham Bay going about 60. Another time, one of my dad's friends was driving drunk and hit a girl on a bicycle, killed her. The judge let him go saying his remorse was enough.
Yeah, times sure have changed... If we go somewhere I'm the dd. I can barely choke down one beer on a hot day but Dennis will make up for my lack.
