We would need to either see the dyno data or know the RPMs at the peak HP. Let's say he's getting 350 HP at 6000 RPM. If he loses 18% power through the drivetrain, he's making 426 HP at the crank (sound familiar). That means about 372 TQ. Remember, this is at 6000 RPM so he is probably safe for three reasons:
1) Once going, the tranny can take more torque as long as you don't dump it on all at one time.
2) He's probably making less torque at lower engine speeds
3) The tranny was rated for a 5000 lb car, we are about 3/4 that weight.
