Why yes sir..
I would say around 10 lbs... then the pistons may be a problem, then not too long after that you may have a problem with lifting a head. This is due to the already thin aluminum deck of the LS3/L99/L92 heads, as well as still being on a 4-bolt head with stock gaskets and gm bolts.
Another thing that differs is what kind of kit you are looking at (supercharger or turbocharger)
A lot of things can be done to allow more boost such as:
Thicker (or different material) head gaskets
Running ARP head bolts, or preferably ARP Head studs, to have more clamping force on the heads.
Going to a bigger (1/2") head stud
Running meth
Having a bigger combustion chamber to lower compression ratio
Going to a different fuel (e85, race gas, etc)
Switching to a head that is made of a stronger material
Switching to a head that has a thicker deck
O-ringing either the head or block
Going to a 6 bolt head
Going with forged internals
Having the ability to defy physics
And I dont know what you are talking about.... everyone loves my sarcasm......
