You have to understand, their is almost NO crime in the greater Wisconsin Rapids area, and they have like 1 cop for every 10 people it seems. A HUGH PD budget and it is all a little insider run community.
You have to come to a COMPLETE stop at every sign or right on red...or your ticketed. You go 6mph over, your busted. Tail light out? Your busted. That roundabout is a joke with all the vesper/auberndale farmers that have hardley driven on 4 lane roads much less a fancy dang roundabout. Read the ploice reports and it goes like this (this is NOT an exageration!):
Women called police to report a women and two kids walked by her house and "Looked Suspicious".
A garden nome was reported stolen from 16th st residence.
A Mr(insert any Polish name with a SKI at the end) was arrested for drunken driving, 5th offense.
A snowmobiler was slightly injured when his sled was clocked at 120 mph and veared into the trees.
One murder every 10-15 years.
But you have the smell (if you can't spell it, you can sure smell it). and Point Beer!!! It is really gods country in the late spring & summer (all 45 days or so of it?) but man, I don't miss the 20 below zero & shoveling the dang driveway.
I used to own L&L Motors in Rapids. Moved to palm trees & bikinis 16 years ago.
