You're not the first to have this problem with the KB. Although when you read the information at their website it says that you won't need the 8 rib until you are pushing 15 psi and over. The only real problem is that NO ONE here has mentioned any solutions. Total_Perf_Eng has alluded (see the Nikey KB 427 build) that they used a tensioner from a 8.3 Cummins but was not very descriptive of the part number and also mentioned that they have tried working with KB for a solution for a while and got well not very far just not to a real solution.
I don't know how the ford and dodge folks deal with this with KB but please keep us up to date as things develop and good luck.
I also just found this. Seems that to keep the KBs in control they went to great lengths.
