Well, you mentioned AFM in your post so that means an A6. A good tuner will/should have trans tunes of varying states for this car as well as engine tunes. A proper trans tune will seriously wake things up! Ask me how I know....
I had my AFM tuned out completely and still got better cruising mileage after the tune.
A word of caution. I would
not suggest turning TM completely off. It makes things very harsh and can cause stuff to break rather quickly.
