Before you do a custom job you should call JDP Motorsports ( www.MagnaflowPlus.com). Don't go by the prices on their site. Call them and tell them you're with Camaro5 and get quotes then. They'll know everything for you on Magnaflow stuff. My guess is that by the time you factor in the all the mufflers and tips you'll probably be able to get a cat-back from Magnaflow or Flowmaster already done and possibly cheaper.
You shouldn't NEED anything more than the 2.5". Performance wise you'll probably be fine. Sound wise the 3" has a deeper tone than the 2.5" which I thinks sounds better.
You should also consider what you are going to do down the road. If you plan on LTs then you should make a decision as though you are putting them on now so you don't have to end up buying a new cat-back when you put on the headers.
What I did was the muffler delete with the resonated x-pipe first. I did that as cheap as I could because I knew I wanted headers down the road and would buy a cat-back then. Sure enough....about 7 mths into it I put on KOOKS with the Magnaflow 3" (#16483) and sold my exhaust to someone with and LT. |
