If you didn't specify the colour exactly, I guess it's down to luck which red was chosen from the many tones of vinyl available. However, if you had asked them to match the stripes to the engine cover, that could have been pretty close to achieve. We have our vans liveried in dark red vinyl, and when we first went to choose the colour, there must have been 30 shades of red. So, assuming you asked for a match, I would say you are being BS'd.
