I wouldent recommend you doing it yourself at home. You can very easily burn through the clear and screwup your paint. IF you REALLY want it done, take it to a pro shop and pay the labour. IF you have the ability to do it at home, you WILL need a high speed buffer with a FOAM 3M pad, and a few of them depending on how much sanding your doing. To wetsand, you will also need diamond dust 3M pads and 3M diamond dust polish. Thats the same stuff we use, but it's hard to find out of the factory, so i stock up in the factory, wait, nm lol

As for clearcoat, I can't really say how many Millimeters are applied.
