Just a side note, I don't imagine that this is what the idiots were trying to accomplish but a similar action is used in carjacking. Someone hides behind a car, bush, etc while another throws an object at the car. The owner gets out to confront the thrower and while they are confronting them the person in hiding runs over, jumps in the car, and takes off.

Just something to keep in mind before going after someone.
