Actually, I think it went Merc to a Lincoln MKZ (Z plan) to a Regal. He definitely had a Merc a few years back, thing did not age well. Lincoln did better since it was a more solid car and he had a high school buddy at Liberty Ford. The man trades cars like a chain smoker goes through packs of cigs.
However to hear he has a Buick was like.. dude why didn't you just get the CTS-V? It's not like he can't afford it but maybe having to foot college bills for my cousins had him scaling back.
Sadly, they both drive imports. One a Mazda6 the other a Toyota aka Scion tC. Asked him why he went with the Toyota and he said "Because it's Japanese.."
I could have stared lasers into my uncle for letting his son do that. Like "Dude.. Pontiac? Could have gotten him a G6 GXP with all the fancy gaudy crap that scion sells for less man!"
