Part number is GM# 12570427 LH.
Mine is the LS3.
I have the old valve cover. Will post pics later.
There is a very small drain hole at the rear end of the inner plate of the cover just below the PVC valve. The problem is that half of this hole was covered with the silicon they use to seal the edges of this plate. This causes a siphoning effect, siphoning oil into the PVC valve. The extra boost of the supercharger exaggerates the problem.
Other symptom of the problem was pinging in 5th and 6th gear.
I didn't get to see the new valve cover, but the dealer said it solves the problem.
Before the fix, the inside of the tailpipe was covered with an oily film. I drove the car 150 miles after picking it up and no oily film. I think the problem is solved.
Also, I couldn't get any pinging to occur on the drive home.
I will be watching this carefully, but I am reasonably confident that the problem is solved.
