You figure you'll drive it only on sunny days and that would be 10K miles a year? I drive mine daily now, be it rain, snow, or sun, and I only go 9K miles a year!
I understand the folks who want to keep the car pristine and never take it out when the road is not dry, and that's fine for them. When I have a car like this, however, I'm going to enjoy it every day. I can't see spending that kind of money, only to drive a no-fun beater daily...
And it is possible to keep the car really nice even as a daily driver. Mine is almost 4 years old now, and does not have scratch or swirl mark on it. It has some tiny, miniscule chips on the front bumper from road pebbles, etc., but you'd be hard-pressed to see them. The factory clearcoat paints nowadays are pretty tough, especially if you always keep the car waxed.
