People y'all need to remember this engine has a higher compression ratio than the V8 engines in the Big Brother 6.2. So it is simple if the big boys need to run premium in the 6.2 then reason would tell you the 3.6 can benifit from the same. I know that the V6 is direct injection and that the general designed this engine to run on 87 octane. I have used 87 and 93 and not that the engine is making more power or even getting better mpg's. My car just seems happier

nice to "feel" happy all the time!..send me the difference "in money" between 87,and 93 gas,and i will gladly "feel" happy along with you!..ohhh!..and mobile, shell,and sunoco will "feel" happier too!
