For those with the SS asking why do all the mods to the V6 Just buy a SS, no different when in the lated 60's guys were moding the small blocks, why didn't the by the SS with the 396 or a Yenko with 427. bottom line is money, you can slowly mod to gain performance.
Let me add something else to the building up a small block over ordering a big block for that era and even today, anybody can go into a dealership and check the hi-performance box for optional engines, it`s more satisfying for some to build and make horse power as opposed to it being handed to you. I like it when the under dog kicks the big dog`s ass.
