Here is my very humble opinion on this subject. Yes my car is modded with headers, cam swap, HF cats, CAI and a Dyno Tune.

My car makes about 450 rwhp not alot by most standards but more than some and more than stock. I did the cam swap for the muscle car lope and that is excatly what I got. The car runs extremely well and I have had no problems since Vengeance Racing installed it.

I have added Pfadt lowering springs and sways and GMPP Axle back exhaust as well.

I have an earlier range VIN that was the subject of the tranny shafts breaking during certain conditions, so if mine breaks I feel I am out of luck since I modded.

But too my thoughts. Many tailshafts broke with stock cars. Why? USE.

Just because you mod you car does not mean it is going to break and just because you don't mod it doesn't mean you will get a million miles on it. There are alot of varibles that go into it.

These are mechanical machines with man made parts that fail. This is a fact and will never change. Of course we all have the Uncle who has a car that he had in high school that he never changes the oil in that still runs today.

Keeping that in mind, keeping in mind what a muscle car was and is and the fact that everyone like to make it his/hers own it boild down to a personal choice or personal responsibility. If you mod and it breaks you fix it. In the 60's if you put a big cam in a car and it slung a rod, you fixed it, you didn't run to GM and say faulty part.....

Unlike cars of yester year modding is alot more technical today, screwdrivers and wrenches have been replaced with laptops.

So if you plan on modding please take responsiblity for your actions, and if your actions cause something to break simply fix it and learn your lesson. JMHO.
