And Yeah... Cars can be dangerous, I've had my Z28 for a while and I feel comfortable with it but I've never dared to trying drifting or cornering in it except for that one time... and that's all it takes.
I knew a kid that got a new 2002 Z28...He Was speeding the 2nd week he had it and ran a stop sign and drove straight through the side of a minivan with a family inside, somehow he survived but he'll be in prison for quite a while...
It CAN happen to you.

And no joke on the gas thing.
Remember this.
Driving under 2k-2.5k RPM= 14-19MPG
Driving over 3k RPM = 8-10MPG
Flooring it.... ehhh... I'd give it a solid 2-3mpg.

Mine was getting 4.848~MPG consistently before I got a cam tune and PCM tune. I'm sitting at around 10-14MPG
Why don't you put in an airplane gear in it and that alone will save you a lot of money plus give you a better top end speed unless of course you either race or get a lot of satisfaction out of pulling people out of the hole.

Edit: Didn't mean to hijack the thread. Make sure Mr Cool that you keep up with all the fuild levels on the car and stay out of the gas for the most part unless you know you can get away with it. If you are lighting up the tires you WILL receiver tickets and of course that will EFFECT the AMOUNT you have to pay for insurance especially at your age.
