It's got the SAME THING. So...now I can say from experience two things:

#1; I never noticed the darn thing before now, and I've owned the car for almost year and a half. Tell ya something?
#2; The protective casing they wrapped the wires in is some TOUGH stuff.

Take a look at ANY trunk, I guarantee that you'll find a harness that feeds into the trunk like that on 75% of them. In fact, I googled a couple of Toyotas and Hondas....same thing. Now, granted, they had the harness bound to the supports of the trunk. But...I'm gonna call "bs" on the it-leaves-a-negative-impression thing. Obviously, for some reason, the Camaro does not have internal supports. Neither does the Cobalt I own, and that car is one of GM's top-5 sellers....I'd say it's tried and true approach to harness the trunk wires.

I have faith they'll choose a reliable solution to this issue. But what the pictures show above...is NOT a bad way to do it. I use my cargo space a LOT, we go on frequent trips to Grandma's, and we're always lugging things back and forth. I've NEVER gotten anything snagged, because (just like the Camaro), they attached it to be tight against the car when the trunk opens. You guys have nothing to worry about.
Thanks for taking a look....can you snap a couple pics? I do have this harness in both my Accords, and yes they're attached to the arm on the trunk lid making them "protected" in my mind. You can e-mail them to me if needed. If not I can swing by my dealer and take a look at a Cobalt to see how it's actually routed.
