We don't clean iriduim plugs. The iriduim is very thin and can eaily be removed. In fact, NGK, doesn't even recommend gapping them for this very reason. I've gapped mine, but am very careful not to touch the center electrode when gapping, and I use two separate flat blade gauges when checking gap. One lays gently on the center electrode while the other blade slides between the first blade and the ground electrode.
and fwiw, I was one with a bad valley cover that had 1 oz of oil per 300 miles going back into my intake and yet the plugs were clean. This was only for 3400 miles until I got my catch can.
