I owned a Focus for a while. I think it could be confused that they ride hard (mine was a ZX3)--but really, it's just unrefined. They have a soft suspension, but because of their unrefined small-car nature, bumps are felt and heard all day long. But if you throw one into a corner, they pitch and roll, understeer, lose all composure. They're not performance-tuned.
The Camaro rides heavy like a vault, but the suspension is buttoned up. You can observe this going over a simple speedbump at about 5mph. You'll feel the bump and the car will follow the bump's contour. Not much spring at all. In a Focus you'll feel the car lift up, hit flat ground, and then spring back up.
If you've ever ridden in a stock-spec 3rd gen IROC Camaro, anything else feels like a Grand Marquis... The 5th gen has a great feel to it. Enjoy the ride!!!
