My first car wasn't crappy at all. It was a '78 Camaro. My aunt and uncle bought it new in '78 and my cousins drove it through high school and college. When I turned 16 in '88, my parents bought it from them for a grand. I fixed it up, put Z/28 air dam and spoilers on it and painted it black. I drove it from high school through my freshman year of college.
I sold the '78 and bought a used '82 Z/28 because I loved the body style and it had t-tops. I kept it for about a year until I couldn't afford the gas and insurance anymore. Had various crappy cars until 2001 when I bought my first new vehicle ever, a 2001 Dodge Dakota Sport. In 2005, I bought a '92 RS with t-tops as a beater/project car. I'm still working on it, but it's almost done and ready for paint in the spring. I drove the Dakota for 10 years until I got rear ended last summer and totaled it. I took the insurance money and put it down on my '10 Camaro. Best decision I ever made and I'm glad to be driving Camaros again
