After 11 years of having owned a 99 Dodge Intrepid (that I still own today and use as a beater car) I was finally in the market for a new car. I had never had a performance car of any kind so I figured why not now at the age of 37 (at the time). I wanted something I would enjoy driving as I do a lot of driving for work and wanted something with a lot of power. My father is an old MOPAR man so I started out looking at the Challenger and Charger SRT8's but they were out of my price range. I looked at the Mustang as well but the 2010 GTs with 315 or so HP just didn't do it for me and the GT500 was too far out of my range. I had seen pictures of the new Camaro but didn't take to it until I saw it in person and sat in it and then the decision was made. 426HP in the low $30G range compared to the upper $40G's with an SRT8 or GT500 and the LS3 having been proven in the Vettes for a few years already had me sold. Of course I immdeiately started to get the "Mod bug" and CAI/Long Tubes/Springs/Sways/Wheels/Tires/Cam swap later and I am approaching what I would have paid for an SRT8 but at least I am enjoying the ride and learning a lot along the way.

I wish I had more of a nostalgic story and a history with GM and the Camaro from my teen years but it really came down to it just being a really cool car with a lot of power at a really good price.
