I asked the guy I talkedc to at GM corporate office. His answer was kind of vague. They have redesigned parts so they should be going into production, then they should eventually put out a TSB which will list the production dates that had the updated parts vs the old parts. Once they start acknowledging this problem it should be much easier to get them to fix it, they've just been in denial. I wouldn't let this stop me from ordering one.
