My car is going to a performance shop next week to be worked on. I've had some pretty significant tapping the last few days. I've had the tapping for a long time, but just recently (last few days) its gotten louder. Then last night it got really bad (very noticeably tapping while I'm driving -especially around 2k rpms) and started making a screaching sound at times when I let off the gas.
My car has 12K miles (pre-order car from Spring 09) and it has always had a slight tap.
I'm now thinking of getting a cam installed while its being worked on.
I was thinking that I should take advantage of the heads being pulled off.
