They did one of these here in San Antonio in the parking lot of Fiesta Texas back in 2001 (or maybe 2002, because they had the SSR available to drive...) and it was called the "Auto Show in Motion." You could go stand in line and take your pick at which vehicles you wanted to check out and basically test drive for free. You could only drive the SSR or Corvette once, and they required that you have an instructor in the passenger seat with you.
If you get the chance, absolutely go to one of these events. They're a blast and you really get a great feel for the characteristics for so many of the vehicles that are available today.
