If it is not available at launch I doubt the problem would be technical issues. The ABL is part of the instrument panel, the tooling for those was being held hostage for liquidation at Cadence Innovation last I heard, and its possible that Cadence is claiming patent rights on a part of the system. Their previous owner (Vantage Industries) was well known for getting his fingers into patents on customer items and claiming he held the patent rights to process used to manufacturer the item etc. I think he even tried to put a patent on the air we breath at one time (sarcasm....but that how bad this guy was) Its also possible that lining up another supplier for the unique parts for this feature is taking longer than expected.
Doubtful its a technical issue because the wiz kids at GM have dealt with worse, but dealing with suppliers could certainly leave GM on the hook for awhile in terms of providing a positive date of availability for ABL. Just my humble opinion of what the ABL problem could be IF there is an ABL problem.
And yes...I probably would delay ordering the car over that when combined with the HUD issue. It would either be that or just get a bare bones 1SS and spend the difference on performance upgrades.
