Not really... Both SCT and Diablo do great engine tunes (ECM)... but only SCT does the Transmission (TCM) tune. And with the Autos this is the BEST part of the tune. With either of these a tuner like Ted Jannetty can buld you a custom tune w/ all the bells and whistles.

Tuning out AFM doesn't have any affect on the lifter tap... you either have it or you don't

Doesn't the AFM/DOD cause the exhaust to sound really weird if you have an after-market exhaust?
Im trying to find a programmer for my impala LT but no luck so far.

When it switches into 4 cylinder mode you sort of hear a groan noise. You will notice it even with stock exhaust. Then when you add Catback it will be a little more prevelant... now add LT headers and it will drive you nuts, but at that point you are tuning and not worried about warranty anyway.
I used to have mine active in 5th and 6th gear only in Drive and totally off in Sport mode. With any handheld tuner you can turn it all off or all on... but your hometown tuner guy w/ EFI Live or HP Tuners can set each gear independent in both D and S.
