Factory navigation systems depreciate a cars resale more than if it did not offer one. This is due to the technology of the navigation would be obsolete after a few years, and also the software on some indash navs are not updated fast enough to be useful. After a few years it would probably not be feasible for an automotive company to keep updates for certain navigation systems. My factory navigation in my mazda is so useless right now that I dont even use it. Right now it shows me living in the middle of a great big field in the middle of nowhere. Unless the software is upgradeable I would never ever consider another factory navigation again. Aftermarket gives you a lot of more options with constant updates (depending on which model) to mapping.
