I miss Chi-Town. What a GREAT mix of old, new, good, and bad.
I MISS seeing the skyscrapers, the "old-azz" buildings, the "L" trains, the bridges, and of course all the fine eateries and "drinkeries."
One of my goals for retirement is to open an honest, good-old - old school "Bar" on the corner.
Anyone remember those? My Grammies neighborhood (Cicero) was unique. I grew up playing cards with 70-somethings while playing with my friends in their backyards. We used to walk the block and laugh at the fact that within a 1/4 mile you could see a "burlesque" bar, a Catholic church, and a good-ole fashioned "dive" with a "Pabst" sign hanging over the doorway.
I guess now you can see why I am conflicted.
I cant think of a better city to open my bar in.
Chicago!!!!!
(sorry for the rant).
