Fox Chevrolet Timonium Maryland. Here's my story...

I have been reading horror stories about dealerships and the huge mark-ups they are putting on the Camaros. I have nothing but good things to say about the dealership I have been working with in Maryland. I am finding that people are being asked for outrageous deposits with their dealer not knowing ANYTHING about MSRP or other information about production of the vehicle.

I was only asked for a $500 deposit and was told upfront that they would pass on any pricing information as it was trickled down to them. I was the first to come to them and ask to put down a deposit and am first in line for their V8 allocation. They did not even know how many allocations they would get and told me so up front and promised to give back my deposit if there was a problem with allocations or if I was not satisfied with their service.

I have had my deposit down since early early October. I got a call yesterday and went to the dealership to confirm my order and tweak any other things I wanted. I decided to remove the sunroof from the order because the design lines in the roof would not be there if I added it. I think the salesman was just as giddy as I was putting the finishing touches on the order. The order was approved by GM and my V8 will be produced alongside the V6's. I have a copy of the order in hand with approval and hope to get my Camaro (the first in my area) in April depending on when the actual production gets revved up. The dealership acknowledged that they weren't exactly sure when the date would be, but were told that my V8 would not be put on hold to make the V6s as discussed in an earlier thread. All I need now is a VIN number and my Welcome kit! The dealer was also upfront about the GM accessories I wan't to put on the car. They have not received pricing but they did have all of the codes to place the order for interior light trim kits, catback exhaust, performance air intake, shorty headers and engine cover. I have no doubt in my mind that this dealer will treat me fairly and will NOT gouge me over MSRP.

The camaro will be in my area at a huge auto show this weekend. I am bringing kleenex to wipe the drool off my mouth and tears of happiness from my eyes!
