You have to be a little fair with the dealer in situations he/she can't control.
Customers who pre-ordered their Camaro should have been furnished with an order number and a copy of the order workbench sheet immediately. No excuse for the dealer not to give you that. When you call the dealer for the status of your order, all they can tell you is what they are being told by GM.
That being said, you can't give the dealer a hard time if you are order number 7 and you want an answer as to when your car is getting built. The dealer doesn't know that at this time.
If the initial dealer estimated Camaro amount is 9, yet he only earns one for any weekly cycle, he doesn't need 15 people calling and saying "Is that one mine???" When you placed the pre-order, it should have been explained how the process works. If the dealer didn't do that, and you didn't ask, tsk, tsk, tsk!
Wait until these cars get built and start to get shipped. I want to see those threads. "MY CAR IS SHIPPED. WHERE IS IT? CAN'T YOU CAL THE FACTORY AND SEE WHERE IT IS??? WAAHHHHHHH!!!!!"
GM will tell you a car is shipped and it's still sitting in a holding yard. Your dealer can't control that. When the car arrives, that's when it's here. Busting your salesperson and/or manager's balls to find your car in transit is only going to sour your transaction. Give them a break. If GM doesn't give the dealer the info you want, that's nt the dealer's fault.
Just learn to be a little more patient with the dealer. They are not all idiots.
