Sorry - not that familiar with weather in Alaska but I assume that there is at least a summer-like season there when driving is more conducive to a sports car type automobile. How many RWD high powered vehicles do you see on the road when the snow is flying or when there is even the possibility of ice or snow? GM knows this and perhaps may be taking advantage of that scenario. However, if they supplied all-weathers, would the cost go up. I also see their use of summer tires as a word of caution. I do not work at GM. I am trying to be reasonable and not second guess GMs take on things.
