Flying right now or I could post a picture of the inside of the line so that you could see exactly what you're trying to release which could aid you in understanding the issue that is stopping you.

Still no luck, I even used the open end of a wrench around the line to give me more grip purchase...
I'm beginning to think a hacksaw is in order and I'll buy a new one... have to check prices first...
