Already talked with the owner of a dealership here that has supported the Arizona All Gens in the past and he put me on the list with a guarantee that the dealership will not charge anything above MSRP (they did the same thing when the 2010 was coming out). Do not let dealers fool you. You will easily be able to get these cars for MSRP you just need to be smart and shop around. However the bigger markup you are willing to pay the faster you will get the car probably because they will have fewer people in line.

I explained that if the car was a twin turbo V6, I would not be interested. Neither one of us knew what kind of car was coming but we both knew that something unique would be arriving someday, most likely the end of 2011. I gave him a deposit and he gave me a receipt and told me that he would most likely get at least one car and that I would be able to use that allocation to order the car that I wanted. It was worthwhile for me to invest a small amount of money to get the first car that came his way. With interest rates averaging less than one percent, I am not losing much money by letting him hold my money. We have kept in touch and I have advised him of every new bit of information that was revealed over the past year.

When I gave him my deposit neither one of us knew that it would be called ZL1, we did not know for sure that it would be S/C and we only guessed that the MSRP would be between $45,000 and $55,000, which is still only a guess. I have no reason to believe that the dealer will not do as he says. For me, it was a small gamble worth taking to get this car without having to wait anymore than necessary or pay more than I am willing to pay.

Just because dealers don't know a price or release date does not mean they cannot take an initial allocation waiting list. I am #3 on the list at one of the biggest dealers here in Arizona. When the information on price, ordering, availability, etc is released they will be going down the list and allowing you to place your order based on your position on the list.
