I somewhat disagree, I believe they used some styling elements from the Transformers car like the twin airscoops with foglights integrated into them. The hoodscoop is clearly similar. But, the fascia is different and clearly is more agressive in its overall look. The lines are blended in better, the top angle of the air scoops is now parallel with the radiator air opening, the fascia is faired out on the outside of the airscoops, etc. The article does states M/T saw a scale clay so we must assume they have a better idea what the actual design intent is.
