GM has a robust track validation program for their cars. The program is constantly improving as is the GM product. The one thing that the GM testing does not cover is after market tires. The stickier the tires, the better prepared the track the shorter the fuse on your driveline.
The cheapest and most overlooked drag strip modification is rear wheel alignment. The less negative camber you have at rest, the better your rear tires will bite as your 5th Gen squat-ts.

Pete, wouldn't you agree that for a 13-second car with his mods, spending a bunch of money is not required? He was asking about DRs on his car as it is.
Now, if he wants to make a 10-second car, all bets are off.
Guess I just think recommending axles, new diff, and other big-$$$ mods at this point is a bit of overkill.
