Can you use notecards, tape off the wheels, mask off the rotors (and rest of behine the tire) and mask off the rest of the car (really well) so you don't have to take the wheels or lugs off? I don't see why not but I wouldn't risk it. Its way easier to.pull the rims off the car. If yo don't have the equipment find a local car forum and borrow the stuff for a 12 pack.
Plus if you do them on the when u need to pull the wheels off they will ne ruined. Plus nobody will want to.mess with the car with everything painted. They wont want to be responsible for making the paint peel.
