1st and foremost Chevy has said they intend to fill all pre-orders by October. That given as a date to complete the 12k pre-orders, your wait until a dealer has one that actually fits what you want will most likely be after that.
2nd, all pre-orders are price protected from any increases during the model year. Will there be any? Who knows, but at least you'd be safe from them.
