Others may disagree with me on this, Bill, but I am a huge opponent of running subs down into 1ohm. Figure out how to run the sub on 4ohm and power it with that load.
Take a read on the Leviathan amp put out by Zed Audio, gives a good right up on the 1ohm issue.
