We bought the opti and the water pump. Both are duralast, we bought the opti from autozone because it has a lifetime warenty...couldn't pass that up.
Next weekend we'll put it all back together...hopefully.
$400 frekin' dollars = water pump + opti (My wallet hurts)

duralast.... probably wont last. ac delco or delphi are the OEM versions which are the best you can get. but who knows. optis.... 60% of the time, they work every time.

LS1s take advantage of things learned from the LT1. its a more refined motor. and is a lot smoother when making power.
think of the S and the T in their names. the S is smooth thruout. the T is rough and edgey.
I prefer LT1s, but I do enjoy the LS1s for the technology that they incorporate
