Sounds like you put a lot of $ in your car it would be a shame to wreck it trying to save a few hundred dollars a year with cheap/hard tires. I put down 530 RWHP and have a nitto invo 315 on the back, so far it's been a great tire. I haven't experienced any of the sidewall roll I've heard others complain about either. Another thing to keep in mind is the better you hook the longer the tire will last. I was burning out all the time in my winter tires (Not intentionally, yokohama parada specX good tire just really not designed for the power. still have them on the front) I doubt I'll get another season out of those.
Right on. I was shocked and appalled that they were gone in just 6K miles of moderately aggressive driving and no burnouts or track runs. On the other hand, for being a harder rubber, these Continentals hook surprisingly well (oh, and they're not cheap either, but at least they last longer to make up for that). As for the power (and gearing) level I'm at now, I'm probably near the limits of traction for these tires. If I get anything else, like a cam, I might have to eventually go back to a softer, stickier, shorter-life tire...but as they say, "gotta pay to play," right?
